Soccer: Chestatee girls advance to third place match in Mountain Cup

GAINESVILLE -- The Chestatee girls advanced to the third place match of the Northeast Georgia Mountain Cup on Thursday with a 2-1 win over Fannin County at the Allen Creek Soccer Complex in Gainesville.

The Lady War Eagles rallied for the win after Fannin County had taken a 1-0 lead midway through the first half. Taylor Buffington set up Hope Baxter's tying goal just before halftime.

Madison Dunn would get the eventual game-winner with a goal 10 minutes into the second half.

Chestatee (3-1) will take on West Hall in the third place game at 6 p.m. Friday at Allen Creek.
