Habersham house destroyed by fire

CLARKESVILLE – A Habersham County house was consumed by fire Monday night.

Some 30 fire personnel from Habersham County, Clarkesville, and Lee Arrendale State Prison responded to the blaze, located in Grand Oaks Plantation off Fred Pitts Road, about 10 p.m.

The occupants, who were home at the time, were able to get out safely.

Personnel from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with traffic control, while Habersham Emergency Medical Services evaluated some firefighters on scene.

Firefighters remained on the scene as of 12:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Further details about the fire were not immediately available.
