CUMMING - Search teams ended dive operations on Lake Lanier Friday afternoon after searching all week for a missing boater and fisherman.
Department of Natural Resources Sgt. Greg Colson identified the man as 47 year old George M. Counts.
"We've talked with the family and let them know what is going on and what we'll be doing for the next couple of weeks to continue that search," Colson said.
Counts' boat was found in the Bald Ridge Creek area of Lake Lanier in Forsyth County Monday night.
Divers, sonar operators, boat searchers and a helicopter were all involved the effort.
"They felt comfortable that they had used every resource and had covered every spot that they felt like they could," Colson said.
Colson said DNR and the Forsyth County Fire Department will continue patrolling the water and shoreline in the search.
