GHCC seeks nominations for agribusiness awards
GAINESVILLE - The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce (GHCC) Agribusiness Committee awards program, a partnership with the Hall County Cooperative Extension, is accepting nominations for its 2013 awards agribusiness awards.
Nominations are being accepted through March 8 for the following awards:
*Friend of Agribusiness... an individual who has consistently promoted agribusiness and agriculture in Hall County. (2012 Winner – Mike Giles)
Outstanding Agribusiness... a member of the agribusiness community who demonstrates significant presence and progress in this area. The agribusiness must have been in operation for at least five years to qualify for this award. (2012 Winner – Pony Perfect Party, Dori Bishop)
*Farmer of the Year... a person who has made significant contributions to agribusiness and community services. (2012 Winner – Payton Edge)
*Ag Hall of Fame... this award is given to individuals each year (living or deceased) in recognition of sustained contributions to Hall County agriculture and agribusiness. (2012 Winner – Alton Bruce and Homer Wilson)
The Agribusiness Recognition Awards will be presented during the annual breakfast on Thursday, March 26, 7:30, at the East Hall Community Center. The event is sponsored by Jackson EMC. For nomination information and breakfast reservations, call the Hall County Cooperative Extension, 770-535-8293.
