Section of Bradford St. in Gainesville closed due to sinkhole

GAINESVILLE - A section of Bradford Street, between Academy Street and Forrest Avenue, has been closed due to a sinkhole discovered on the site.

According to City of Gainesville Communications Director Catiel Felts, contractors with Strickland and Sons Pipeline discovered the sinkhole late this afternoon will doing work for the Gainesville Public Utilities department.

The stretch of road will remain closed while the site is assessed and repairs are made to make the street safe for motorists.
