CLAYTON – A teen was seriously hurt in a single-vehicle wreck west of Clayton Monday morning.

The wreck, which occurred around 9:15 a.m. on U.S. Highway 76 West, involved a Ford Explorer driven by a 16-year-old female, according to Georgia State Patrol officials.

The vehicle left the road in a curve, struck an embankment, and overturned, officials said. After being extricated from the SUV, the seriously-injured teen was flown to Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C.

GSP officials are not releasing the teen’s name at this time.
