DOT's icy fight finished up in northeast Georgia

Department of Transportion crews ready for inclement weather
GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Georgia DOT is winding up work now, demobilizing by 2 p.m. from battling winter precipitation on state routes in the Northeast Georgia Mountains this weekend.

At the height of the battle, 25 dump trucks and 55 employees worked in seven counties; Habersham, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union and White counties. The last three crews are finishing their emergency response work in Habersham and Rabun Counties now and will soon head home. Georgia DOT will continue to monitor weather and roadway conditions across Northeast Georgia and return to work if needed.
