BUFORD - Gwinnett County Police have arrested a suspect in connection with at least 15 burglaries, including at least one in Buford.
Investigators arrested 43 year old Douglas McDaniel on a parole violation Monday.
They initially made contact with McDaniel the day before. He matched the description of the man who had burglarized several gas stations and convenience stores in the north end of the county, according to Gwinnett County police.
Authorities said he was driving a white Chrysler Town and Country minivan, which matched the description of a vehicle used in several of the cases.
While associated with 15 burglaries, McDaniel so far is charged with four. Gwinnett investigators said the method of operation and items stolen were similar in all cases.
Police recovered the minivan and a red truck described in the Buford burglary case.
In that case, The Country Store at 298 W. Main Street was burglarized on an overnight in October of 2012. The suspect stole about $1500 worth of cigarettes and scratch-off lottery tickets. Police gathered security footage from a Chevron store where the suspect cashed some of the stolen tickets.
The string of burglaries went from August of 2012 through January 2013.
