Flood warning for Dawson County; wind advisory for N. Ga.
UNDATED - The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Etowah River near Dawsonville until futher notice.
Forecasters say at 1 a.m. thursday, the state was 12.6 feet and rising quickly. Flood stage is 13 feet. Minor flooding is forecast in south Dawson County.
In addition, minor flooding continues on Nicholson Road in northwest Forsyth County.
Also today, forecasters have issued a high wind advisory for most of north and central Georgia until 4 p.m.
Winds will come from the west at 15-25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
Forecasters warn that winds this strong can down weakened trees and make
driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
