GAINESVILLE, GA – The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) welcomes Chip Frierson and Julie Nicholson to their Gainesville team. Both Frierson and Nicholson are natives of Hall County and bring with them almost four decades of combined experience in the Hall County market, serving in leadership positions within both the financial sector and on the boards of community organizations.

Frierson, a graduate of North Georgia College, has been named City Executive of Private and Personal Lines of Business, primarily heading up NBG’s emerging consumer banking initiative, but also expanding NBG’s market share in commercial and business banking. Frierson brings with him almost 30 years of banking expertise, as well as a long list of involvement in Gainesville and the surrounding communities, including director of the Hall County Chamber of Commerce, president of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Hall County, president of the Hall County YMCA and Jaycee of the Year in Gainesville.

Nicholson, a graduate of the University of West Georgia, has been named Vice President of Private Banking, with primary responsibilities for direct commercial and business-relationship banking, including professional groups and high net worth individuals. She will also take responsibility for treasury management services and internet product delivery systems. Nicholson brings more than a decade of experience in commercial lending, credit underwriting and customer service management. She has also served in leadership positions with the Hall County Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Hall County, and the Gainesville-Hall County Junior League.

NBG Regional President Billy Glosson said, “Chip and Julie add significant, complimentary strength to the successful team already in place here and are tremendous hires for us. The employment of these two highly regarded professionals makes a clear statement about NBG’s commitment to the local market. Their deep local community ties along with proven knowledge and skill as bankers will allow NBG to provide an even higher level of service to our customers for many years to come.”

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) is a locally-owned, community bank with offices in both Athens and Gainesville. Since it first opened its doors in 1999, NBG has grown to assets of approximately $315 million.
