HOMER – A Banks County equipment operator lost his job after being arrested in Monday’s drug round-up.
David Dan Green, 31, of Homer was arrested while on the job at a road work site in the county. He is charged with sale of Oxycodone.
“The county personnel policies do address the discipline process, and in this particular situation the following procedures were followed in this employee’s dismissal,” said Banks County Clerk Jenni Gailey on Tuesday.
Section 8.300, Exceptions to Discipline Procedures, states, “There are occasions when an employee must be removed from the job without delay. This includes a situation where it is likely that the employee has committed a felony or other crime involved moral turpitude, or when his/her continued presence on the job might be dangerous for him or others or be unduly disruptive to the operations. In such an instance, the employee should be immediately removed from the job by the county commission chairman or department head and the county commissioners contacted immediately for appropriate action.”
