Banks County investigating business burglaries

HOMER – Banks County sheriff’s officers are investigating overnight burglaries discovered Monday morning at two Banks Crossing businesses.

Sheriff Carlton Speed identified those businesses Sears and Drake Gas Co., located adjacent to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts on U.S. Highway 441 south of Interstate 85.

“We believe they are related,” Speed said. “As a matter of fact, my understanding is it’s possible they went from one business through the wall into the other business.”

Speed said the crimes remain under investigation and officers can’t release additional details at this time.
