Gainesville police investigate robbery of pedestrianBy Derreck Booth Editor GAINESVILLE - A female pedestrian was not injured when a male suspect robbed her of her purse on a Gainesville street Friday afternoon.
According to Police Corporal Kevin Holbrook, it happened around 3:30 p.m. on Central Avenue near Hazel Street. "A female victim advised a male suspect approached her from behind, possibly brandished a weapon and demanded her purse," Holbrook said. "The female victim did comply." Police did set up a perimeter and used a search dog, but the suspect did get away. Authorities continue to investigate. The only suspect description is of a Hispanic or white man, wearing jeans and a black shirt. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
