Baldwin assistant fire chief on leave following arrestBy Rob Moore Editor HOMER – A Baldwin public safety official was arrested Tuesday night after a domestic dispute.
Baldwin Assistant Fire Chief Albert Franklin Walton, 41, of Alto was arrested by Banks County deputies at a residence on North County Line Road, Alto, the Banks County sheriff’s incident report shows. “Walton was primary aggressor during a domestic dispute with his live-in girlfriend,” the report states. The report states Walton “brandished a semi-auto pistol during the dispute” and “damaged vehicle window with pistol as she was attempting to leave.” Walton is charged with terroristic threats and acts under the Family Violence Act, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and disorderly conduct, said Banks County Sheriff Carlton Speed late Wednesday afternoon. As a result of the arrest, Walton is not on the job in Baldwin. “His status right now is he is on administrative leave per the mayor and council until the mayor and council can do an investigation on the situation,” said Baldwin Fire Chief Joe Roy. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
