Newly-elected Hall officials begin taking their oaths of office this weekBy Ken Stanford Staff GAINESVILLE - Hall County's newly-elected officials will begin taking their oaths of office Wednesday.
That's when incoming tax commissioner Darla Eden will be sworn-in, with Superior Court Judge Bonnie Oliver administering the oath at 10:00. Superior Court Judge C. Andrew Fuller will preside when the county's new probate judge, Patty Walters Laine, is sworn-in Friday morning at 10:00. Hall County Commission Chairman-elect Dick Mecum says he and another new member of the commission, Jeff Stowe, will be sworn-in Monday, January 7, at 10:00 in the commission meeting room at the Hall County Government Center. U.S. District Judge Rick Story of Gainesville will administer the oaths of office. Hall County sheriff-elect Gerald Couch will be sworn in Friday, January 4th, at 3:00 at First Baptist Church on Green Street with Governor Nathan Deal administering the oath.
