Boys basketball: DeGraff leads Chestatee past Lumpkin

DAHLONEGA Jordan DeGraff drained five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points to lead the Chestatee boys to an 85-76 win over Lumpkin County Tuesday night at the Lumpkin County gym.

With the win, the War Eagles (3-7) snapped a five-game losing streak. Lumpkin County fell to 3-8 with the loss, its fourth straight.

Chestatee led just 19-14 after the first quarter but extended the lead 43-33 by halftime. Lumpkin County cut the lead to 64-58 heading into the fourth quarter but could get no closer as Chestatee outscored the Indians 21-18 in final eight minutes.

Aaron Manders added 17 points and eight rebounds for Chestatee. Justin Jones had 15 points, Ryan Barnes had 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and Jordan Pulliam added eight assists for the War Eagles.

Jacob Haskell paced the Indians with 31 points.

Chestateee next will face Lakeview Academy in Lanierland Tournament at Gainesville High on Thursday.
