Girls basketball: Sykes leads Lady Falcons to win over Apalachee

FLOWERY BRANCH -- Tavia Sykes had 25 points, six rebounds, and three assists to lead the Flowery Branch girls basketball team to a 55-36 win over Apalachee Friday night.

The Lady Falcons (5-0) also played another stellar defensive game holding the Lady Wildcats to just four points in the first quarter and five in the third. Flowery Branch led 11-4 after the first quarter and took a 27-19 lead into halftime.

The Lady Falcons then clamped down on the Lady Wildcats using a 16-5 third quarter to blow the game open.

Heather Moore and Jacy Ramey each had nine points for Flowery Branch.
