ATLANTA Ė North Hallís run to a berth in the Class AAA finals at the Georgia Dome came to a screeching half against St. Pius Friday night.

The Trojans were held to more than 150 yards below their season rushing average and never led in a 31-6 loss to the Lions in the semifinals.

Big plays proved to be the difference. The Lions had three scoring plays of 34 yards or more and scored the final 24 points of the game.

St. Pius (12-2) next week will take on another Region 7-AAA team, Buford, for the state title.

The game was close in the first half as North Hall (11-3) trailed just 7-6 after Brad Brown connected with Lee Shelton on a 6-yard TD pass early in the second quarter. Thatís as close as the Trojans would get.
