Gov. appoints Phil Smith to Forsyth Co. Superior Court

ATLANTA - Gov. Nathan Deal has appointed State Court Judge Philip Smith as Forsyth County’s third Superior Court judge. Smith earned his bachelor’s degree at Vanderbilt University and his law degree at the University of Georgia. His spot on the State Court bench will be filled by Forsyth County’s Solicitor General Leslie Abernathy, who becomes the county’s first female trial judge.
