Girls basketball: Lady Tigers open 7-AAA with win

BLUE RIDGE -- The Dawson County girls baksetball team picked up its first Region 7-AAA win of the season Tuesday night with a 48-42 win over Fannin County.

The Lady Tigers led 17–14 at halftime and blew the game open with a 19-9 third quarter to run out to a 36-23 lead. Fannin County used a 19-13 fourth quarter to get back in the game but could not complete the rally.

Carly Gilreath led Dawson County with 16 points. Sheyenne Seabolt added eight points and eight rebounds. Ashley Parker and Hannah Porter had six points apiece.

dawson County (3-0, 1-0 in region) next will play host to Banks County on Friday.
