Elbert County armed robbery suspect arrested

ELBERTON – A Bowman man has been charged with armed robbery in connection with an incident early Tuesday at Royal Foods Store in Bowman.

Brandon Giannia Langston, 27, was arrested by Elbert County sheriff’s investigators Thursday afternoon after a search warrant was executed at his residence.

"Inside, Langston was located along with evidence that connects Langston to the robbery," according to a statement from Sheriff Barry Haston. "Investigators were able to process forensic evidence at and near the scene of the robbery confirming that Langston was the culprit."

That robbery was reported around 3:40 a.m.

"It is believed that early Tuesday morning, Langston entered the store wearing a Marvel comic hero mask, Iron Man, and committed the robbery by pointing a gun at the clerk and demanding money," according to Haston.

Langston is being held at the Elbert County Detention Center, where the magistrate judge is expected to deny bond.
