Pedestrian hit by vehicle dies from injuriesBy Derreck Booth Editor GAINESVILLE - A female pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Old Cornelia Highway late Thursday afternoon has passed away due to her injuries.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. when 69-year-old Myrna Joyce Morris of Gainesville was attempting to cross the highway just east of Georgia 52. Morris, who was crossing the westbound lanes, stepped into the path of the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt being driven by Brandon Masters, 25, of Gainesville, who was unable to stop. Morris was airlifted from the scene, but would later succumb to her injuries. An investigation by the Georgia State Patrol is underway. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
