Boys basketball: Chestatee pulls away for win over Pickens

GAINESVILLE -- Chestatee used a 20-12 fourth quarter to pull away from Pickens for a 74-65 win Tuesday in boys basketball action.

The War Eagles (2-2) led just 54-53 after third quarter but got hot down the stretch.

Justin Jones paced Chestatee with 27 points, including five 3-pointers. The War Eagles hit 12 3-pointers as a team.

Keelan Passmore added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and Jordan Stubblefield had 12 points for the War Eagles.

Chestatee has gone 7-6 over its 13 games dating back after an 0-17 start last season. The War Eagles will play at fellow Region 8B-AAAA foe next Tuesday in a non-region game.
