Hall County stabbing victim airlifted, suspect at largeBy Rob Moore Editor GAINESVILLE – The victim of an overnight stabbing in Murrayville was airlifted to Gwinnett Medical Center and the suspect remains at large.
Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, public information officer for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies were called to the 6000 block of Glen Burtz Road at about 3 a.m. Sunday regarding a stabbing. The 19-year-old male victim said he and a friend were on the front porch of his home when an unknown male who was walking down the road came up to him and asked for a cigarette. Wilbanks said an argument ensued and quickly became a physical fight, with the victim being stabbed at least once in the area of his abdomen. The suspect fled the scene on foot. The unidentified victim was taken by helicopter for treatment of his injuries. Wilbanks said that as of Sunday afternoon, investigators have not identified a suspect, but continue to follow up on leads.
