Lumpkin Co. cheerleaders impress at state

The Lumpkin County competition cheerleading squad finished ninth in the Class AAAA championship meet on Saturday in Columbus.

The Lady Indians scored a school record 243 points in their best ever finish. This marks the third straight season Lumpkin County has qualified for the state championship. The Lady Indians are led by head coach Ashleigh Devries and assistant Sandy Kassouf.

Team members include Taylor Gooch, Abbie Guthrie, Emily McClure, Megan Abercrombie, Ellie Anderson, Ashley Jarrard, Carlie Lingle, Katie Rushton, Brittany Stewart, Ansley Travis, Coralei Neighbors, Emma Anderson, Brittany Bookmiller and Katie Crowell.
