Members of the NEGTA and North Hall High tennis team gather for a check presentation at North Hall.
The North Hall High School Tennis Booster Club recently received a donation from the Northeast Georgia Tennis Association (NEGTA) -- the Hall County affiliate of USTA.

The donation will help provide covered seating at the tennis courts of North Hall High School.

The Trojans' booster club held two fundraisers to help cover the cost of the new seating and shading, and NEGTA gave a donation to cover the remaining cost of $1,500. The much-needed project will help protect spectators from heat and other elements.

North Hall coaches Bob Woodworth and Patricia Zaudtke were present, along with North Hall athletic director Harold Daniels, and most of the boys and girls varsity and junior varsity players for the check presentation. Also present were several junior NEGTA players and NEGTA members, including Christine Slate (president), Patsy Kilmartin (vice-president), Pam Williams and Stacey Smith.

This donation was given for several reasons, but mainly due to the growth of tennis in North Hall. The high school has seen a large jump in player participation over the past two years. In addition, many of the new varsity North Hall tennis players were on the first ever USTA GA Quick Start 10-and-under State Champions, who have continued to play tennis over the years.

NEGTA is a non-profit organization that works directly under USTA for the promotion and growth of tennis in Hall County. NEGTA has considered this their community project of the year and is proud to announce their continued support of tennis in Hall County. NEGTA offers leagues for women, men and juniors throughout the year. They also have provided other community give-back projects such as Tennis 101, Tennis Night in America and their annual Rally for the Cure.
