Seminar to focus on post-election implementation of health care law
GAINESVILLE - The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce will host a Small Business Success Seminar on Tuesday from 7:45 – 9:00 a.m. at chamber offices, sponsored by Charter Business, Highland Mountain Beverage and Jacobs Media Corporation.
The program is "Implementation of the Affordable Care Act in the Wake of the 2012 Election: Implications for Small Business” and will be presented by Phaedra S. Corso, PhD, MPA, Professor, University of Georgia Department of Health Policy and Management.
Corso is a Professor of Health Policy in the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia (UGA). Her research focuses on the practical application of economic evaluation for setting public health policy and assessing health-related quality of life in vulnerable populations.
Prior to joining the UGA faculty in 2006, Dr. Corso worked for 15 years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an economic and policy analyst, most recently in the area of injury and violence prevention. Dr. Corso holds a master’s degree in public policy from UGA (1991) and a doctoral degree in health policy from Harvard University (2000).
