HOUSCHTON – Mill Creek clinched its first playoff berth since 2010 with a 49-0 win over Habersham Central Friday in Region 7-AAAAAA action.
The Hawks (6-3, 5-2 in region) will travel to Collins Hill (6-3, 5-2) next week in a showdown for third place in the region.
Daniel David had 166 yards with three touchdowns on just 5-of-7 passing. David’s favorite target was Michael Cheeks, who had four catches for 158 yards and three touchdowns.
Jacorey Lewis had 155 yards rushing and two touchdowns to lead Mill Creek. Davozea Felton added 68 yards with one score and Jordan Sylvain had 55 yards and one TD rushing for the Hawks.
A win next week will match the Hawks most wins in a season. The won seven games in 2007 and 2010, the only other two times they advanced to the playoffs.
