Body of man found in burning mobile home

CUMMING - Forsyth County firefighters and city of Cumming Police were on the scene of a mobile home fire, where responders discovered the body of a man Friday morning.

According to Forsyth County Fire Department Division Chief Jason Shivers, the call came at 8:24 a.m. to 101 Sawnee Drive. Shivers said the location is in the city of Cumming in a mobile home park.

"Upon on arrival of the first units, firefighters did confirm a working structure with smoke showing from a single-wide mobile home," Shivers said.

While fighting the blaze and performing a search of the home, firefighters discovered a man inside.

"That gentleman was removed from the home, but unfortunately had succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene," Shivers said.

While the body was sent to the crime lab, Shivers said there is nothing suspicious about the death at this point.

He said a dog in the residence also perished. Investigators believe the man is the only person that had been in the home.
