Patrol releases names in fatal Banks County crash

GAINESVILLE - The Georgia State Patrol has released the names of those involved in a fatal two-car traffic accident in Banks County Wednesday afternoon.

51 year old Joy Renee Lewallen of Lavonia died in the crash at Old Highway 441 North and Georgia Highway 15. It happened around 5:53 p.m.

According to the patrol, Lewallen was a passenger in a car driven by 48 year old Timothy Stephens of Gainesville. Stephens was taken to Northridge Medical Center in Commerce. He has been charged with failing to yield at an intersection.

The driver of the other vehicle, 17 year old Angela An Nguyen of Baldwin, was checked out by rescuers at the scene.
