Expect Gainesville traffic delays for parade

GAINESVILLE - Authorities are urging Gainesville motorists to make alternate plans if they normally use streets in the downtown Gainesville area Thursday afternoon.

Gainesville High School is holding its homecoming parade. Gainesville Police said lane closures will run between 5:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

Authorities said the Gainesville square will be closed during the parade. E.E. Butler Parkway will be closed periodically at Washington and Spring Streets.
