Woman killed in two-vehicle Banks County crash

HOMER – One person was killed and another was seriously hurt when their vehicle was struck by another near Homer in Banks County just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Banks County 9-1-1 notified emergency personnel of the crash, at Old Highway 441 North and Georgia Highway 15 (U.S. Highway 441), at 5:53 p.m.

According to Sgt. 1st Class Chad Johnson of the Georgia State Patrol, the fatality was a female passenger in a vehicle that pulled out from Old Highway 441 North and was struck by a vehicle that was traveling on Georgia 15.

Johnson said the male driver was seriously injured and was taken to Northridge Medical Center in Commerce, where he was conscious and talking.

The driver of the other vehicle was 17. She was not seriously hurt, Johnson said.

Additional details were not immediately available.
