GAINESVILLE - Hall County's school superintendent has recommended a Gainesville native as the next principal of White Sulphur Elementary School.
Will Schofield recommended Dr. Betsy Ainsworth. She currently serves as Assistant Principal at Sardis Enrichment School.
Ainsworth has over 12 years of experience in education. She was first employed in the Hall County School District in August 2002 as a teacher at Chestnut Mountain Elementary and has served as an Assistant Principal since 2009.
"I am thrilled to be joining the White Sulphur community. White Sulphur has a rich history of educating students in a nurturing environment, and I am honored to become a part of this long-standing tradition. I look forward to working with parents and teachers at White Sulphur as we continue to grow our students into future leaders," Ainsworth said.
The Hall County Board of education is expected to take up the recommendation in its monthly work session November 12.
Ainsworth would replace Dr. Ann Murphey who is retiring.
