Cross Country: North Hall boys, White Co. girls impress at Last Chance

CARROLLTON -- A preview of things to come?

North Hall's boys and White County's girls each won first place trophies at the Last Chance Invitational on Saturday at the course that both teams are hoping to tread in the state championship meet in two weeks in Carrollton

Twenty-one Class AAA and AAAA schools competed and the Trojans' Witt Nix led the way, finishing in 16 minutes, 58 seconds. Lady Warriors freshman Jenna Gearing also won the girls race in 19:41.

Local teams finishing behind North Hall included Buford in ninth, West Hall in 11th, and White County in 14th. Behind White County in the girls race were North Hall in second and West Hall in fifth.
