SOCIAL CIRCLE -- For the last three games, Jefferson's mantra has been "no letdowns."

So far, so good.

The Dragons throttled Social Circle 47-10 on Friday night in Social Circle after leading 47-0 at halftime.

The win pushed Jefferson (7-1, 5-0 Region 8-AA) one step closer to clinching the Region 8-AA crown. In fact a win next week at Riverside Military would seal the Dragons' crown.

"I don't think we've punted in the last three games," Jefferson coach T McFerrin said. "And the guys have really kept things up and played really well. I'm proud of all them."

Dragons quarterback Bryant Shirreffs impressed in limited action on Friday, passing for just over 200 yards on just six completions before Jefferson began subbing liberally.

"We had no turnovers in the first half, and the defense really played well too," McFerrin said.
