Jailer resigns following traffic arrest

GAINESVILLE - According to the Hall County Sheriff's Office, a Hall County jailer resigned his position last month after his traffic arrest in Banks County.

In a release Friday, Hall County authorities said William Cochran resigned his position on September 15. He announced his resignation after telling supervisors of his arrest by the Georgia State Patrol, according to the sheriff's office.

Hall County authorities said they've learned he was later convicted of weaving on the roadway.
