GAINESVILLE - Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia has announced that Jim Walters has retired as chairman of bank's board of directors.
Walters, President and CEO of Walters Management Company in Gainesville, was founding chairman and one of twelve organizing directors of the bank.
"Mr. Walters has been a driving force behind the success of our bank," commented President and CEO Jody Lail.
Wendell Starke, who previously served as Vice-Chairman, was elected to be the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Doug McMahan was elected to serve as the new Vice-Chairman.
Starke owns and manages The Starke Companies, a company managing a group of 11 radio stations, a ranch and aquaculture business in Idaho, and real estate developments and property management in Georgia, North Carolina, and Idaho.
McMahan is the former owner of McMahan Transportation, Co., Inc. and Truck Service, Inc. and, before his retirement, was a partner with Tri-Gas & Oil Co., Inc.
Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia has grown to over $95 million in assets since it opened in 2008 on E.E. Butler Parkway in Gainesville.
