GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Police Wednesday afternoon announced they had arrested two suspects in connection with Tuesday's armed robbery of the Dollar General Store on Thompson Bridge Road. One of those suspects is an employee of the store.

Police say 28-year-old Troy Jerard Russell of Gainesville faces charges of armed robbery, theft by taking and aggravated assault.

A second suspect, 20-year-old George William Bradley, II of Gainesville, faces the same counts. Police confirmed Wednesday evening that Bradley was an employee of the store

The arrests came Tuesday night, according to police.

"K-9 officers along with investigators were able to develop a number of leads in the case," police Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said.

"That led to a search warrant being issued. Throughout the search warrant, there was evidence recovered that was related to the robbery," Holbrook added.

The robbery happened around 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. A male cashier said the suspect was dressed in full camouflage with his face covered. The suspect took money from the drawer.

An Access reporter who spoke with the cashier shortly after Tuesday's robbery, recognized him as the same man in Wednesday's mugshot released by police.

The store is in the Publix shopping center near South Enota Avenue.
