Traffic signal at 365 and Howard Road is operational

GAINESVILLE - The wait is over for a traffic signal at the Highway 365 and Howard Road intersection in Gainesville.

Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Teri Pope confirmed that the light went operational Tuesday after several days of testing.

Convenience store company RaceTrac and the city of Gainesville worked together on the light project. RaceTrac is on one side of the highway, with the YMCA on the other.

The previously uncontrolled intersection was the scene of numerous traffic accidents this year.
