Keep Hall Beautiful planning America Recycles Day events

GAINESVILLE - Keep Hall Beautiful, in honor of America Recycles Day, will be hosting a community yard sale, recycle fair and open house from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov.3 at the Gym of '36 parking lot in downtown Gainesville.

Keep Hall Beautiful and other local organizations will be on-site collecting non-traditional recyclable materials as well as providing information on other recycling opportunities throughout the community.

Items accepted for free recycling:

Most Electronics, Appliances & TVs
Paint (up to two gallons per household)
Batteries
Ink Cartridges
Newspapers
Towels & Linens
Bicycles
Eye Glasses
Mercury Thermometers

No electronic units containing hazardous materials/chemicals will be accepted.

There also will be free mobile document shredding available with a limit of five boxes per household, (no businesses, please).

Items accepted for a fee recycling:

Projection & Wooden Console TVs and Copiers over 36” - $25
Fluorescent Straight Bulbs 2’@ $.25 /ea. & 4’ @ $.50/ea

Hall County Resource Recovery, City of Gainesville Solid Waste, Best Buy of Gainesville, Document Destruction Services, Reworx Electronic Recycling and Gainesville Paint are also involved in the project.
