UNDATED - Jackson County firefighters worked two residential fire over the past two days, both early in the morning.
The latest blaze came at 1:09 a.m. Monday in the 6600 block of Jackson Trail Road in Hoschton. According to Jackson County Emergency Services Director Steve Nichols, the single story residence was a total loss. No one was home at the time.
In that response, a firefighter suffered an ankle injury and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment. There's no word yet on the cause.
The earlier fire was Sunday morning at about 1:07 a.m. in the 200 block of Rebecca Street in Hoschton. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the second story, although the rest of the house sustained smoke damage.
Again, no one was home at the time of the blaze. The Hoschton fire is under investigation by the West Jackson Fire Department and the State Fire Marshall's Office, according to Nichols.
