Deputy ok after struggle with suspect

GAINESVILLE - A Hall County Sheriff's deputy was checked out at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Monday afternoon, after a suspect struggled with him and escaped on foot.

According to Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, it happened about 3:30 p.m. on Floyd Road.

The suspect was being arrested for possession of cocaine when a struggle ensued. Authorities are still on the lookout for the suspect.

The deputy suffered a minor injury to his forearm. He drove himself to the emergency room and has since been released.
