Pheasant shoot raised $22k for LTC Foundation
“We are extremely proud of the community support shown for this event in our second year,” Lanier Technical College President Russell Vandiver said.
OAKWOOD - The Lanier Technical College (LTC) Foundation says it raised over $22,000 at its Second Annual Pheasant Shoot, held recently at Jim Walters' Farm in Lula.
All proceeds go to benefit the foundation's General Scholarship Fund. The event sold out all 40 of its allotted shooter spots and had over 30 community sponsors/partners to make this one of the college’s most successful fundraising events in its history.
“We are extremely proud of the community support shown for this event in our second year,” Lanier Technical College President Russell Vandiver said. “With the changes in what financial aid programs will pay for and the cost of attending college rising, the role of the Foundation and private, community support will continue to play a vital part in helping students pay for college.”
During the 2011-2012 academic year, the Lanier Technical College Foundation awarded 283 students a total of $113,591 in scholarships.
