No. 8 Jefferson rolls over Oglethorpe Co.

JEFFERSON -- Bryant Shirreffs and younger brother Evan Shirreffs went a combined 11-of-12 passing for 264 yards and one touchdown to lead Class AA eighth-ranked Jefferson to a 43-0 demolition of Oglethorpe County Friday night in Region 8-AA action.

The Dragons (6-1, 4-0 in region) piled up 478 yards of offense while the defense held the Patriots (4-3, 2-2) to just 165 yards for the game.

Sammy Williams provided the ground attack for Jefferson with 99 yards and one touchdown. Antonio Strickland also had two TDs rushing and Christian Jackson had one rushing touchdown for the Dragons.

McKay Dickens had four catches for 118 yards and one TD as the main target for the Shirreffs.

The Jefferson defense has been outstanding over the past three games yielding just seven total points with two shutouts.
