RABBITTOWN -- Tonight in Rabbittown, East Hall football will honor one of its greatest coaches and a legend in the northeast Georgia football community.
Jim Lofton led the Vikings from 1979-1986, building a 62-26 record in that time and guiding East Hall to its only state semifinal appearance so far in 1982.
During Friday's game against West Hall, the Vikings will honor Lofton, who also coached at Jefferson, North Hall and Greater Atlanta Christian before retiring in 1998. Lofton amassed a career record of 255-112-2, including a state title during a stint in Alabama at Lee Academy (located in the Auburn area).
East Hall will honor Lofton as part of its Hall of Fame night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
