CALHOUN -- The Jefferson volleyball team saw its season come to an end after a grueling, five-set state playoff loss to Calhoun on Wednesday in the first round of the state playoffs in Calhoun.
The fourth-seeded Lady Dragons (28-16) won the first two sets 25-21 and 26-24 but fell in three straight to seal the outcome 25-22, 25-14 and 18-16.
Jefferson trailed in all five sets before fighting back to take the first two.
