Collins, Cooley report latest contributions, expendituresBy Ken Stanford Staff WASHINGTON - The two remaining candidates in the race for Georgia's new 9th District Congressional seat are reporting total contributions of $248,184.12 in their latest filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
The Republican, Doug Collins, listed contributions of $209,485.12 and expenditures of $150,265.28. His campaign spokeswoman, Loree Thompson, said Tuesday morning the report was filed Monday night. Democrat Jody Cooley, meanwhile, reports contributions of $38,699 and expenditures of $12,615. Cooley filed his report several days ago. The reports cover the period between August 1 and September 30 and were due at midnight Monday. Collins, who came out on top in a three-person race for the GOP nomination, and Cooley, who faced no opposition for the Democratic nomination, will meet in the Nov. 6 general election. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
