CHESTNUT MOUNTAIN - Eagle Ranch, a Christian home for children in crisis, is hosting its annual Fall Open House from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21.

The event offers an informal visit to the Ranch that typically draws neighbors, church groups, and other supporters. The staff will provide guests with campus maps upon arrival, and visitors may leisurely explore the grounds on foot or in their own vehicles. Refreshments will be served.

Since opening its doors in 1985, Eagle Ranch has helped hundreds of children work through difficulties in all aspects of their lives – from family and social relationships to academic performance and more.

Boys’ and girls’ homes will be open for tours, conducted by Ranch staff and children. Other facilities, including the school, administration and counseling center, chapel, lodge and more will also be open.

“Our fall Open House gives us a chance to talk with everyone in our community, whether a supporter of the Ranch, a family that may be in need of some help, or a couple contemplating a ministry opportunity as houseparents,” said Eddie Staub, founder and executive director. “It’s a joy to share with people about our ministry at Eagle Ranch and to let people see firsthand what we do here.”

OPPORTUNITES FOR POTENTIAL HOUSE PARENTS, ASSISTANT COUNSELORS

Eagle Ranch invites couples interested in becoming houseparents to come to Open House and learn more about what this position involves. A complete description of the houseparent position, as well as a Q&A, can be found at EagleRanch.org. Additionally, recent college graduates or college students preparing to graduate in the Spring who are interested in a position as an Assistant Counselor can take a tour of the Ranch during this time.

RESOURCES FOR STRUGGLING FAMILIES

Eagle Ranch’s referral coordinator will be on hand to answer questions and provide information to families seeking help for a struggling child. Families can meet the referral coordinator at The Wink Wynne Lodge during their visit.
