Two Barrow firefighters being recognized

WINDER - Two Barrow County firefighters will be recognized at the 19th Annual Fire and Life Safety Awards luncheon on Thursday in Forsyth.

“This year is extra special to all of us at Barrow County Emergency Services as two of our own are receiving awards,” commented Chief Dennis Merrifield. “We are very proud of the two of them and all they do for our department and the citizens we serve.”

Lieutenant Aaron Fuller will be receiving the Fire Official of the Year award. He was nominated for this award for his dedication and leadership shown with Barrow County Emergency Services.

Firefighter Royce Bottoms will be receiving the Firefighter of the Year award. Bottoms was nominated for his dedication and hard work with Barrow County Emergency Services, specifically with the Hazardous Material Response Team.
