HOLLYWOOD – Traffic on Georgia Highway 15 (U.S. 441) in Hollywood was impacted Monday night by a two-vehicle wreck with entrapment at Talmadge Drive (Burnes Sims Intersection).
Details of the wreck, which happened shortly after 8:15 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Georgia 15, were not immediately available. Cpl. Mike Hopkins of the Georgia State Patrol confirmed at the scene that the female driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck with a North Carolina license plate was arrested for driving under the influence. The driver of a Ford Windstar van, bearing a Habersham County license plate, had to be extricated by Habersham County Fire Department personnel, and was taken by ambulance for treatment. Because of hose testing going on in Hollywood at the time of the wreck, additional fire personnel from Habersham County Station 15 (Macedonia) were able to respond immediately and assist Station 9 (Deep Creek) personnel with extricating the trapped driver. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
